The consultation considers your physical symptoms, emotional experience, general patterns, and personal health history. Homeopathy is offered as complementary care and should not replace appropriate medical diagnosis, established treatment, prescribed medication, vaccination, or emergency care.

What to Expect During Your Initial Assessment

The 90-minute initial consultation allows time to explore your health and symptom patterns in detail.

Dr. Quan may ask about:

Your primary health concerns
When and how your symptoms began
Factors that improve or worsen your symptoms
Sleep, energy, appetite, digestion, and temperature preferences
Emotional patterns and responses to stress
Relevant fears, sensitivities, and recurring experiences
Nutrition and daily routines
Previous illnesses and treatment experiences
Current medications, supplements, and homeopathic products
Personal and family medical history

Some questions may seem unusually detailed. In traditional homeopathy, these distinctions help develop an individualized symptom profile.

Repertorization and Remedy Selection

Following the consultation, Dr. Quan may use a homeopathic repertory and materia medica to compare your symptom profile with traditional remedy descriptions. This process is known as repertorization.

The assessment may lead to:

Selection of an individualized homeopathic remedy
A recommendation to observe symptoms before choosing a remedy
A request for additional medical information
Referral for laboratory testing or medical evaluation
A determination that homeopathy is not appropriate for the concern

If a homeopathic product is recommended, Dr. Quan will explain the proposed remedy, potency, dosing instructions, and monitoring plan. Dr. Quan will explain product, shipping, and follow-up costs before you proceed.

Monitoring Your Response

A follow-up is generally considered about four to six weeks after beginning a remedy, although timing may vary based on your circumstances and the reason for care.

You may be asked to observe and document:

Changes in your primary symptoms
Changes in sleep, energy, appetite, or digestion
New or worsening symptoms
Changes in emotional well-being
Medication or supplement changes
Significant events or health changes since the initial consultation

Follow-up information helps determine whether continued observation, a change in the plan, additional evaluation, or discontinuation is appropriate.

Worsening Symptoms Require Appropriate Evaluation

New or worsening symptoms should not automatically be interpreted as a “healing response.”

Contact Dr. Quan if your symptoms worsen after taking a recommended product. Significant, persistent, or concerning symptoms may require conventional medical evaluation. Evaluate urgent or severe symptoms promptly at an appropriate urgent-care or emergency facility.

Do not discontinue prescribed medication or delay established medical treatment without consulting the healthcare professional responsible for that treatment.

Evidence and Safety

Homeopathy remains scientifically controversial. Current research has not established homeopathy as an effective treatment for specific medical conditions beyond placebo effects.

Many homeopathic preparations are highly diluted, but products labeled as homeopathic vary in formulation and quality. Some may contain measurable active ingredients, alcohol, or other substances that can cause side effects or interact with medications.

For these reasons:

Tell Dr. Quan about all medications and supplements you use
Provide the exact name and potency of any homeopathic products
Use products only according to the provided instructions
Keep homeopathic products away from children
Do not use homeopathy in place of necessary medical care
Report unexpected or worsening symptoms promptly
