Integrative Support for ADHD, Autism, and Substance Use Recovery
Personalized, Whole-Person Care in Newport Beach and Orange County
Living with ADHD, navigating autism-related health needs, or working toward recovery from substance use can affect many aspects of life—including attention, sleep, emotional regulation, physical health, relationships, school, work, and family well-being.
Dr. Quan Nguyen provides compassionate, individualized care that considers the whole person—not simply a diagnosis or collection of symptoms. The goal is to better understand the factors affecting your health, identify practical areas of support, and develop a realistic plan that respects your needs, strengths, and circumstances.
Care That Begins with the Whole Person
Every person’s experience is different. Care begins with a comprehensive conversation about your health history, current concerns, daily routines, environment, and personal goals.
Depending on your needs, the evaluation may consider:
Attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation
Sleep quality, energy, and daily rhythms
Nutrition and digestive health
Stress, anxiety, and nervous system regulation
Current medications and supplements
Relevant medical conditions and laboratory findings
School, work, family, and social circumstances
Previous evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment experiences
When additional expertise is needed, Dr. Quan may collaborate with or refer to primary care physicians, pediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, educational specialists, and addiction-treatment professionals.
ADHD and Executive Function Support
ADHD can influence attention, organization, motivation, impulse regulation, emotional well-being, and the ability to follow through with daily responsibilities.
Integrative care may help identify health and lifestyle factors that can influence these areas, including sleep disruption, nutritional concerns, chronic stress, medication effects, and inconsistent daily structure.
Care may include individualized strategies for:
Improving sleep and daily routines
Supporting nutrition and stable energy
Strengthening organization and follow-through
Managing stress and emotional reactivity
Reviewing medications and supplements
Coordinating behavioral, educational, or psychiatric support when appropriate
Autism and Whole-Person Well-Being
Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference, and each autistic person has a distinct combination of strengths, sensitivities, challenges, and support needs.
The purpose of care is not to change a person’s identity. It is to support physical health, comfort, regulation, participation, and quality of life.
Areas of integrative support may include:
Sleep difficulties
Digestive or nutritional concerns
Stress and anxiety
Sensory overwhelm
Emotional and nervous system regulation
General health and wellness
Coordination with family members, schools, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
Laboratory testing does not diagnose autism. When formal developmental, psychological, or educational evaluation is needed, an appropriate referral may be recommended.
Substance Use and Recovery Support
Recovery is deeply personal and often involves physical, emotional, behavioral, relational, and social dimensions.
Dr. Quan offers respectful, nonjudgmental whole-person support for individuals who are working toward recovery or seeking greater stability in their lives. Care may address sleep, nutrition, stress regulation, overall physical health, medication and supplement concerns, and coexisting mental-health needs.
This service is intended to complement—not replace—specialized addiction treatment, psychotherapy, medically supervised withdrawal management, residential care, or emergency services. When appropriate, Dr. Quan will recommend collaboration with qualified addiction-treatment and behavioral-health professionals.
What Your Care Plan May Include
Your individualized plan may incorporate:
A comprehensive health and lifestyle assessment
Review of previous medical records and evaluations
Relevant laboratory testing when clinically appropriate
Personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations
Sleep and nervous system regulation strategies
Review of medications and supplements
Education and practical behavioral support
Referrals and collaborative care when additional services are needed
Recommendations are tailored to your clinical needs, readiness, and personal goals.
Supporting Patients and Families
These concerns rarely affect only one part of a person’s life. Families and caregivers may also need education, guidance, and support as they navigate treatment decisions, school or workplace challenges, communication patterns, and daily routines.
Dr. Quan works collaboratively with patients and families to create greater understanding, strengthen practical skills, and develop sustainable approaches to care.
